A Week in Rural Scotland

Thank you for joining us here in picturesque Glen Macalie, on the shore of Loch Leven in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. We welcome you to the campus of the Glen Macalie School for Girls and hope that you will enjoy your stay.


This week will largely be unstructured; you are welcome to investigate the castle (which dates back to 1237 CE) and the nearby village of Glen Macalie. Some resources which will be available to you include:

In the castle:
Comprehensive Library
Modern Kitchens
State of the art Training/Exercise Room
Extensively landscaped grounds and gardens
Horseback Riding
Fishing
Hiking

In the village:
Shopping
Pubs and restaurants
Museum
Historical buildings
Golf

We ask only that you take care to observe the following rules:

1) Please do not leave campus near or after dark.
2) Venturing too far outside after dark, even on campus, is not guaranteed to be safe. You do so at your own risk.
3) There will be occasional evening events. Participation in these events should be considered of minor risk; however, anyone taking part should endeavor to follow all directions to ensure his or her safety.

Welcome Reception

On the first evening, there is a casual reception in the Great Hall. Lots of food, pleasant music, and a selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Enjoy yourself!

*The daily bus pulls up in the square and a single passenger gets off, a duffle bag on his back and looks around. He is white haired with a weary face that seems old, yet at the same time, there is a youthfulness about him... as if the age he seems to carry isn't the full truth. His face is quiet and reserved, his clothes casual, comfortable and well fitting and his boots the sort that a hiker would wear. H takes a letter from inside his jacket and reads it for not the first time before looking around. Nodding to himself, he starts walking over to one of the shops, adjusting the duffle bag on his shoulder as he walks and slipping the letter back in his jacket. He spots the woman in the multi-coloured scarf and nods pleasantly to her as she slowly browses the windows near him.*

"Good afternoon," he says in a mild baritone voice that carries surprisingly well.

Night Expedition

"Buffy Summers will be leading a night expedition out onto the far part of the campus. If anyone is interested in coming along to find out just exactly what it is that goes bump in the night out there, please assemble in the Grand Entrance Hall at sunset."

Santana rolls her eyes at Brittany. She doesn't understand why she wants to go on this night expedition so badly.

"But B, why do you wanna go so badly? Why can't we just stay here and have awesome sex?" She asked as they walked out of their room.

She has her reasons for not wanting to go parading out onto the far part of the campus. She would deny it if anyone ever asked, but she secretly terrified of vampires. Not even Brittany knew.

But she has never been able to say no to her girlfriend, so if this is something that she really wanted to do, she would suck it up and try to not show how completely terrified she thinks might be out on the far parts of the castle.
