A Week in Rural Scotland

Thank you for joining us here in picturesque Glen Macalie, on the shore of Loch Leven in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. We welcome you to the campus of the Glen Macalie School for Girls and hope that you will enjoy your stay.


This week will largely be unstructured; you are welcome to investigate the castle (which dates back to 1237 CE) and the nearby village of Glen Macalie. Some resources which will be available to you include:

Extensively landscaped grounds and gardens

Historical buildings

We ask only that you take care to observe the following rules:

1) Please do not leave campus near or after dark.
2) Venturing too far outside after dark, even on campus, is not guaranteed to be safe. You do so at your own risk.
3) There will be occasional evening events. Participation in these events should be considered of minor risk; however, anyone taking part should endeavor to follow all directions to ensure his or her safety.

So much to tell you! I took this train trip with my friend Shosh. Well... more like Hannah's friend Shosh, but she needed an escape and I had an extra ticket. I met a guy in Paris who was insanely hot, so that happened. And I made this friend, Beth. We got high in Amsterdam.

Oh yeah, so tell me about this Paris guy. *she laughs a little* I was in Amsterdam recently too. Too bad we didn't bump into each other then. I had to go track down my brother. He ran away to avoid finishing high school and going to college. I had to spend a lot of the squirrel fund to get him back.

I sort of met a guy then too. On the train. He helped me find Lip. *doesn't wanna talk about him too much, feels like that'd make it obvious she has a crush*

Paris Guy was just... a one night stand, I'm sure of it. But a hot one night stand. He was so rough and bossy and... ugh, Fiona. Fucking amazing.

Does the squirrel fund need a boost because, until I get back to the States, I'm still spending all of my rich boyfriend's money. It's what he deserves for being an abusive prick. Apparently he's been abusing me? I didn't realize it until Beth said so.

Rough and bossy, huh? *teases* So that's how you like it?

Abusive? * looks concerned, scans him again from head to toe, knowing that physical abuse is the only kind she'd be able to see, not seeing anything out of place* Yeah, definitely. I don't mind stealing money from pricks.

*rolls her eyes at him trying to drag her into touchy feely girl talk*

Yeah I kind of met a guy. He's just a guy. He helped me find my brother. And the hotel he stayed at was like a fucking mini-palace. And he's from Orange County and I'm from the Southside. *said matter-of-factly not like she feels there's anything wrong with it*

I've seen guys like that before. They think it's fun to be there until someone steals their car or punches them in the face or Frank pukes all of 'em. And it's great to be the hero and all. For like two mayne three weeks and then they realize that this is life. My life, everyday, and they bail.

*laughs and shrugs*

Who could blame them? So he's just a guy.

I didn't really think about him being abusive, but... It's little things, I guess. Hannah and I had this party, and he started shouting abuse at all of our friends. I went over to calm him down and he was shoving me. And sometimes at home, when he gets mad and he's had a bit to drink, he pushes me into the wall. Beth thinks it's abusive. I just thought that was how people fight.

So you're, like, a wrong-side-of-the-tracks kind of girl? I'm from the mean streets of Colorado. Look out. *shifty eyes* Are you going to give him a chance? Do you think you'll see him again?

*isn't sure what to say because that's pretty normal in her house, in her neighborhood, but she knows it's wrong all the same*

Look, I'm gonna be the last person to be telling you what to do with your life. But at the very least it's an intimidation tactic, a way to put you in your place. Maybe that's where you want your place to be though. That's up to you to decide.

*chuckles* You didn't figure that out when I told you we had a killing bat hanging in our foyer?

I don't know. Maybe we will. See each other again.

*she decides not to answer about giving him a chance, because she's not really sure and she's trying really hard to do what she thinks is right, which is to not risk fucking up everything she has going on right now with a boy*

My life has been pretty charmed. I can't imagine what you go through on a daily basis, and it sort of scares me to know that this is how you and your family live, because I care about you. But it also means that you're tough as fuck and know how to take care of yourself, which is one of the things I completely love about you.

I'm breaking up with him as soon as I'm back in New York. It's over.

*pulls him into her room, closing the door before pressing him against it, kissing him while she hits play on the radio, not caring what it was, but wanting it to cover some of the noise out of courtesy, and since the kids are in nearby rooms*

He pulls back enough to get out of his pants, giving her time to finish undressing. The undressing is his least favorite part - it's so time consuming and it cuts into what he really wants to be doing, kissing her as much as possible. He's missed her. He's missed her lips. And if all she wanted to do was kiss, he'd be completely happy right now.

She feels that the clothes are always getting in the way of what they really want. And it's hard to pull away. Because kissing him is so perfect. She could kiss him forever, but it's been so long since she last saw him, she selfishly wants more, wants it all, all of him.

Once their both naked, her lips find his again, because she can't get enough of that, as she eases him onto the bed crawling over him, her lips moving down to his neck as he settled against the pillows.
