A Week in Rural Scotland

Thank you for joining us here in picturesque Glen Macalie, on the shore of Loch Leven in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. We welcome you to the campus of the Glen Macalie School for Girls and hope that you will enjoy your stay.


This week will largely be unstructured; you are welcome to investigate the castle (which dates back to 1237 CE) and the nearby village of Glen Macalie. Some resources which will be available to you include:

In the castle:
Comprehensive Library
Modern Kitchens
State of the art Training/Exercise Room
Extensively landscaped grounds and gardens
Horseback Riding
Fishing
Hiking

In the village:
Shopping
Pubs and restaurants
Museum
Historical buildings
Golf

We ask only that you take care to observe the following rules:

1) Please do not leave campus near or after dark.
2) Venturing too far outside after dark, even on campus, is not guaranteed to be safe. You do so at your own risk.
3) There will be occasional evening events. Participation in these events should be considered of minor risk; however, anyone taking part should endeavor to follow all directions to ensure his or her safety.

Willam Wallace basically started a war against the English Army which was pretty badass. He was also the center of this Mel Gibson movie called Braveheart....guy just rode around on horse screaming freedom every five seconds.

A movie? *tries to remember the context she's heard this Muggle word in before* I have never *pauses, hoping she's saying the right thing* seen one of them before.

I've never seen any movie before. *she blushes a little because the way he asked made it seem like it was very normal to see movies*

I wouldn't say I was sheltered. Just grew up differently. *she pauses, not sure how he'd respond to someone other than him being magic* I can do magic too.

I'd love to see a movie with you though.

*she can tell that he feels awkward, even as he holds her closer, rubbing her arm, and she moves closer to him, seeking his warmth for comfort*

It was she agrees. *she wants to let him off the hook, so she says after* but it was a while ago. And it's over now.

I am. *she nods with a small grin* I was born with it. Gage probably has it. Both his father and myself have magic. I grew up in a world that was made up mostly of others who had magic. Didn't spend much time in the non-magical world. That's why I've never seen movies or gone ice skating or roller skating.

It's a magical creature. Maybe most like...a siren. They attract men, make them boastful and desirous. They have unnatural grace and beauty.

*she didn't like to think about it much, because sometimes she wondered if it was the only reason she and Bill were together at all, or possibly the same with Nathan*
