Once Upon A Time / Storybrooke Week
Jan. 6th, 2013 06:12 pm
Hello everybody I am Emma Swan-St. John and I am the Deputy Mayor of Storybrooke. Regina Mills used to run the place but....we drove her out when she started dating this weird guy called "The Master". How they are out there running around without the curse affecting them....I don't even know.....ANYWAY My dad David Nolan, yeah I know he looks my age long story there, runs the place with his new girlfriend but he assigned my wonderful Husband Mick and I to help with guests and newcomers from "The Land Without Magic".
On behalf of our family we welcome you to Storybrooke.
Now before you enter you must know the story about this place. Orginally this place was the enchanted forest. When my son Henry came up to me with this story (if you would like to know the full tale he's the little expert so if you have any questions he will gladly let you read the book) I didn't believe it myself but the main point of this story is we are all a bunch of characters.....no really we are ALL a bunch of characters brought here by a curse set by the evil Queen. But part of the curse was recently broken while the characters remember who they are, they are not COMPLETELY back so please don't be alarmed if there are some magical things going on.
With that said we hope you enjoy your stay. We have plenty of fun events
The Mayors Mansion - Mick and I are happy to accomidate visitors since we have many guest rooms open if you don't feel like staying at Granny's, just please don't make a mess.
Granny's Bed and Breakfast.
Some Cool places to See:
Granny's Dinner
The Wishing Well
Storybrooke Docks (That and the Wishing Well are pretty Romantic Places FYI)
Toll Bridge
Mr. Gold's Shop -whispers- avoid making deals with the Owner
RP wise it is a free for all week. You can do whatever you want whether it be dirty....clean...fluffy or angst ridden.....but there will be some cool interactive features you have the option of doing:
Events- Ill be posting an event thread once every two-three days, this is optional for those who are in the midsts of intense threads, but it's mainly group threads and social gatherings in the town its there so characters can socialize and have fun with their buddies and stuff.
Question/challenge of the Day Every day I will be posting a new thread for the "question and/or challenge of the day" pretaining to the theme of this week. Keep your eyes peeled for the questions you don't want to miss this, especially because I cant wait for the interesting. At the end of the week there will be voting and people will be rewarded in a shotout post.
If you have any questions feel free to contact the Mayors office, I will be happy to assist you!
QUESTION OF THE DAY If you were a citizen in Storybrooke and you had a fairytale counter part who would it be and why? For Storybrooke Citizens...do you like your fairy tale counterpart, if not if you can chose a new one who would it be and why?

Julian is going to just love this.

Bela. Good to see you. *pause* This is... quaint.

Date: 2013-01-08 06:14 pm (UTC)*as she is talking, walks over next to you by the closet*
*comes in behind you, wrapping her arms around your waist*
*kisses your neck*
*murmurs:* It is good to see you, however, even if this room is the price we must pay to do so.
Have you looked around the town at all yet?
~ Bela
((Pictures of some rooms at the b&b. (If you haven't already done your own research, of course. :P )))

I have not. *amused:* I find it is arguably a better option to relinquish my reserve weaponry before walking down Main Street. I suspect it is not atypical of its kind, however?

Date: 2013-01-10 12:32 am (UTC)I have yet to see anything out of the ordinary myself, however. Right now it still seems fairly typical of a small town. As thrilling as that is.

Date: 2013-01-10 05:00 pm (UTC)I'm not sure thrilling is the proper word for it, but yes.
*glances around the room*
What is it your job requires of you here?

Date: 2013-01-12 08:13 pm (UTC)Hardly.
But alright. *another brief kiss, then moves away, investigating the hotel room a bit more* *picks up a decoration, looking at it distastefully before setting it back down* If you should require time on your own to take care of such investigations, I am more than capable of keeping myself occupied. I have with me some work I brought in case you would need such time. Whatever it is you need.
Sark

Date: 2013-01-13 01:23 am (UTC)I may. It is difficult to determine what time I will need when I am not entirely sure what is going on. And you are welcome to join me, if you care to do so. I don't anticipate anything exceptionally out of the ordinary or dangerous. If you wish to keep yourself occupied with work on your own, I'm fine with that as well. *wry grin* I think a more pressing concern is what we are going to do about food around here.

Date: 2013-01-13 02:30 am (UTC)Right.
Mmh. *looks around the room* Particularly considering we do not seem to have been provided with a kitchenette. I suppose we shall have to partake in whatever the restaurant downstairs has to offer. *wrinkles his nose slightly at that* I suppose we have suffered worse.

Date: 2013-01-13 03:19 am (UTC)Don't tell me you have never engaged in roleplay before?
It cannot be as bad as the carnival offerings at least? And did I tell you I once worked in a diner as part of a job? Eating there has to be at least slightly better than working there. *grins*
~ Bela
no subject
Date: 2013-01-13 03:35 am (UTC)No, I merely did not expect that to be the subject of your fantasies. Although it does beg the question of in what roleplay you have partaken.
*raises his eyebrows at the diner part, then:*
Hopefully. I was, however, able to at least cook my own meals there. And I certainly hope that job at least did not last for long.
Sark

Date: 2013-01-13 04:12 am (UTC)Wouldn't you like to know.
Long enough. It felt like it lasted longer than it really did. It is actually where I met the Winchesters. I stole something from them while acting as their waitress at the diner.

Then I suppose we should get moving.
*pulls away from her, sitting up and swinging his legs off the bed, reaching down to retrieve his pants and underwear from the floor, folding them*
Would you care for me to join you, or shall I familiarize myself with the town as you complete your job?
Sark

Date: 2013-01-25 05:48 am (UTC)If you wish to join me, two pairs of eyes would be better than one. However, if you do not wish to do so, familiarizing yourself with the town could also be beneficial. As perhaps there are other options here of which I am unaware. I will leave it up to you.

I am, however, rather accustomed to locating artifacts, if you would tell me what you're looking for.

This is an Aztec bloodstone. I wouldn't recommend bleeding anywhere near it, or, actually, even touching it with your bare hands. It has some nasty properties.
((what it does, if you are curious.))

No, thank you. I'm ready.
*moves to the door, then opens it for her*
Do you know where we are going?
Sark
no subject
Date: 2013-01-27 04:33 pm (UTC)*goes through the door with a nod of acknowledgement/thanks while speaking:*
I do. The rumors I have heard are that someone named Mr. Gold has the artifact. He owns a shop here in town; when I scouted the town briefly earlier, I located it. It's not far.
*heads for the stairs*
~ Bela

Date: 2013-01-28 01:44 am (UTC)*follows her out, locking the door*
Lead the way.
*follows her down the stairs, looking over the place in a bit more detail this time, not terribly fondly*
Sark

Date: 2013-01-28 02:29 am (UTC)*turns to head down the street toward the shop*
*puts on a fake tour guide voice and gestures to one side of the street*
On this side of the lovely Main street, you will see... not much of interest.
*gestures to the other side*
Same with this side of the lovely Main street.
At some point, we will come across a diner. And if we went far enough, eventually some docks, for at least a little variety.
*laughs*
I think there might even be less to do in this town than at the carnival town. And that is saying something.
*glances around*
At least it is rather pretty? In a quaint small town kind of way?
~ Bela

Date: 2013-02-06 05:28 am (UTC)I'm not certain how it is one would come to choose to stay here for a night, let alone voluntarily live under such circumstances.
*half a nod, then, clearly without full-fledged agreement:*
I suppose that is a positive.
Sark

Date: 2013-02-09 03:01 am (UTC)You have chosen to stay here for a night, haven't you? I'm sure everyone has some motivation or another.
*pauses*
But, yes, I cannot imagine living in such a place as this. I need the activity of a big city. I would go stir crazy living here.
*grins again*
Don't get too excited. The locals might mistake you for an overly enthusiastic tourist.
*stops walking and kisses you, running her fingers down your chest*
*breaks apart and says in a sultry voice:*
I promise I will make spending the night here with me worth your while.
