European Train Ride Week

Lets see if I can get it right this time.

Sorry this is so late. Ended up in the hospital this afternoon. This will be a low key week because I don't have it in me for a lot of activities at the moment.



Welcome to The Ebbsfleet International Railway Station located to the east of London. From here, you will be catching the Eurostar train to Paris. Make sure you have your Eurail train pass handy. This is the pass that will allow you to travel throughout europe. If you lose this, you may have to buy a new ticket or remain where you are while the rest of us go on.


Feel free to have a look around the station. The train will be here shortly. As soon as it arrives, you can find your seat and then wander around and get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2: Welcome to Paris. Feel free to wander around and enjoy the sites.

Day 3: Welcome to Amsterdam. There are sites to see for everyone. Check out the canals. Eat in one of the many fine restaurants. Or if you are into more risqué fun, check out the Red Light District. Here.

We'll be heading for Berlin in the morning.

Day 5:
Today we've arrived in Venice. Venice is really a collection of small islands connected by canals. Venice is the perfect city for couples. If you want to stay around, you can catch the Venice Carnival that begins the end of January. For now, you can take a romantic or relaxing Gondola ride. You can take a tour of the city by boat. You can crash in one of the many luxury hotels. There are museums, amazing architecture, or opera houses. If nightlife is your thing, there are jazz clubs, coffee houses, and pubs to enjoy.

Day 7: And our trip this week ends in Budapest. Stay as long as you like and enjoy your trip home.

Phillip let's out a mirthless chuckle. "I don't think so. I know most of my sister's friends." his tone implied that he thought they had a flimsier relationship. Perhaps a more tawdry one.

"what exactly is she giving you in exchange for this little phone call?" he asks the other man.

"It doesn't really matter," she said,"Tell her to go fuck herself. I'm not coming home."

He looked down at her and gave her a questioning look as if to ask if her brother was always like this.

He ignored his first question. "Listen, i don't really know why you ran away or anything about you really, but I do know that your sister cares about you. Why else would she travel half way across world to come find you? She only wants what's best for you. So have a little respect for her and don't be an ass. Pick up the damn phone when she calls you."

Fiona felt two feelings war in her when Seth said that. First, she was happy that someone said it. That someone pointed out she was due some common courtesy. but she also felt feircely protective of Lip and a bit like who the fuck was this guy to call him that.

"Got it. You're new Steve," Phillip said into the phone. "Tell her if I come home, I'm not going back to fucking school." But even as he said it, he was starting to regret being mean to his sister because of his own personal crap. "Tell her to meet me tomorrow at 3," he said, giving Seth an address and then hanging up.

"I'm not the new anyone. I'm just trying to help." He said not quite knowing, but not liking the bite it had to it. "That's between you two. You can tell her yourself if you really mean it." Seth pulled his hand away from hers and grabbed the pad of paper and pen next to the bed and wrote down the address Phillip had given him. "I'll pass it along." He said and hung up the phone.

He put the pad back down next to the bed and turned to face her. "You're meeting him tomorrow at 3." He told her.

Fiona looked at him, her eyes widening, because she knew Lip well enough to know he was stubborn as hell when he wanted to be, a slow, wide smile broke out over her lips. "Really?"

she threw her arms around him, knowing he had to be in part responsible for that. "Thank you."

There was a knock at the door and she was grateful for an excuse to pull herself away from him.

"Sorry about him. he's not usually like that. but..." she didn't feel like making excuses for him, even if he did have good ones.

He smiled and nodded at her.

He wrapped his arms around her taking in the feeling of her body pressed against his and his smile grew wider. "You're welcome." He liked being able to help people, he definitely gets that from his dad.

When she pulled away from him he got up to go get the door.

He waved his hand as if to say forget about it. "Don't worry about it. I get it. We all have our skeletons in our closets."

He opened the door and let the man from room service in to put the food down. he pulled out his wallet and gave the guy a tip and then shut the door behind him.

He gestured toward the table for her. "Shall we?" He asked pulling out the chair for her.

She didn't know how to take Seth sometimes. I mean he was a stranger and he helped her and he was gonna give her a comic for Carl, and he was paying for everything, and he excused Lip's behavior. And he didn't appear to be expecting anything in return.

She hopped off of the bed and scurried over to the table, feeling much happier and energetic, now that she knew she could talk to Lip, make him come home. "We shall. It smells fucking delicious." She realizes that she let her manners slip a little and tries to laugh it off.

"So I think I owe you some telling you about myself. How about if we start with my name. Fiona Gallagher."

He chuckled at her exclamation and grabbed a beer and opened it and handed it to her before opening one for himself and sitting down. "I hope you like beer, they don't really have much in the wine department around here. "

"It's about time, Fiona." he said playfully with a wink.

"I'm more a beer girl than a wine girl anyway," Fiona told him, taking the beer from him, and holding it out to him. "Cheers?" she raised an eyebrow. They clinked the necks of the bottle together before she took a swig.

She laughed. "We just got up to all of it backwards. I only know your name because you got the room."

She picks up the silverware and begins to cut a piece of the steak.

"So what do you want to know?"

"Cheers." He said clinking his bottle with hers and taking a sip.

He laughed and shrugged. "Semantics."

"Hmm..." He thought about it for a moment. "When you're not chasing your brother in different countries, what do you do?" He asked and took a bite of his steak.

"If you say so, Seth," she said, her tone light and breezy, playful.

That was an interesting question. It left her with a few options. Option one, truth. Option two partial truth. Option three lie. She shifted a little awkwardly in her chair as she took a bite of her steak, giving her a chance to think it over.

If she told him the truth, he'd wanna make her his project, or he'd pity her or something. But she didn't feel it was right to tell him a total lie.

"Well, right now, I'm working at a club. serving drinks," partial truth, no need to say it was one of eight jobs,"I just turned 21 at the beginning of the summer, so I can do that now." A whole truth.

"And I help my parents with my siblings," another partial truth. He didn't need to know she took complete and total care of them.

"I like to, ummm...dance, and run."

It felt really awkward to talk about herself. No one had taken an out and out interest in her in a while.

"What about you? What do you do when you're not making comics, promoting, putting up strange girls you don't know in hotels?"

"Well that's cool. I used to work in a club. It was pretty fun. Although, I wasn't a bartender, but that's besides the point."

Running. Why someone liked running when they didn't have to, he would never understand, but if it worked for her, then why not.

He laughed. "Well don't let this go to your head or anything, but you were the only 'stranger', " he used air quotes to make his point, "that I have ever done something like that for."

"I love the ocean, especially surfing, sailing, and jet skiing. I also like race cars."

"It is a lot of fun," she agrees, laughing,"What did you do there? At the club?"

He seemed to pause a little on the running thing.

"Hey, I made state in high school," or she would have, if she hadn't had to drop out,"And I broke some record for fastest mile. At the time." She adds that in, because she's broken what her high school coach said was the record then, now. maybe it's changed.

She just looks at him, unsure how to respond to him saying he doesn't usually do things like this. "So would that make me special or overly pathetic?" the edge is back in her voice some.

She's never really spent a lot of time on the water or near the water, growing up in Chicago. So she doesn't really get a lot of that. They have a marina, but not a lot of open water.

The last part peaks her interest though. "Race cars huh? Wouldn't have guessed that. What kind of car do you drive then?"

Maybe bringing up working in the club wasn't the best idea. "Cleaning shit up, set up, heaving lifting. Never again will I work for one of my girlfriends." He shook his head.

He caught the little pause in her sentence and the 'at the time,' and he really wanted to know what that mean. But he was wasn't sure if she would tell him even if he asked, or if she would even tell the truth. He was going to ask anyways and see what happend. "At the time?"

"Don't. I think I know where your brain is going and don't let it. You're not pathetic or a charity case or anything like that. I find you intriguing. I like you."

"What would you have guessed then?" He asked interested in what she thought. "I drive an Audi R8 GT Spyder (http://d3403mtifmmdhn.cloudfront.net/carline_gallery_images/335/original/AR8_10184.preview.704x396.png?1329862316)." He didn't want to mention that he had another car. He saw how she cringes every time he brings up where he lives.

She laughs. "Working for a significant other is never a good idea. Almost as bad of one as living with 'em."

"Yeah, I mean high school was a while ago. maybe someone's faster than me now. So, at the time," she shrugged. A lie. "I did it in 5 minutes and 25 seconds."

She bristles a little when he tries to say he knows what is happening in her head. "You don't know me," she says pointedly, even now, he only has half truths.

She shrugs before say totally jokingly,"Affordable hatch backs? I don't. You seem like one of those guys who always does the right thing. And then to be into race cars...." It was kind of hot.

"Seriously? God, those are beautiful cars!"

He laughed. "You can say that again."

"That's still pretty damn fast. I'm impressed."

He put his hands up defensively. "Hey, I didn't say I knew you. Because I know that I don't, but I am trying to get to know you. That's all."

He glares at her playfully. "Very funny. No, if I always did the right thing I think I would drive myself crazy. Gotta cut loose every once in a while."

"Yeah, I definitely love it. It's my baby."

She blushed a little, looking down when he said he was impressed. "It's not a big deal. It doesn't really, you know, mean anything..." It sure as shit didn't help her raise five kids and keep a roof over their head and food in their bellies.

She's painfully aware that he's trying to get to know her, and she thinks that that might be the part that she's unsure about. and she doesn't like him trying to figure her out. If he ever did, it'd make her horribly vulnerable.

"Come on. You do most of the right things. You seem like a good guy," she didn't know if that was a compliment or not, this would be so much easier if he weren't a good guy, then she could predict him, she could know for certain that none of it meant anything.

"I would love to drive a car like that sometime."

"I totally is! It takes talent to do something like that!" He said noticing her blush and smiling.

He shrugged. "I guess. But being a good guy all the time would get boring. You've gotta have something to live for. I've definitely learned a few things from my brother. Breaking rules every once and a while is fun."

"I'm sure you would." He said and winked at her. He took a bite of his steak and then a long pull of his beer before adding. "We could probably make that happen, if you're lucky."

She looked intently at her steak, cutting another piece until he looked away. She wasn't used to a lot of praise. She did a lot without any thanks.

"You ever get arrested like your brother?" she asks curiously.

he teased her about wanting to drive his car, and this moment of cockiness on him was really hot.

She arches a brow, sitting back in her char, taking a long pull from her beer. "If I'm lucky?" She sits forward again, giving him a flirtacious grin. "What might a girl have to do to get lucky?"

He thought it was adorable how uncomfortable it made her when he complimented her.

"Actually I have. Jail cells suck. Never again do I want to be in one of those." He said remembering when they kept him and Ryan in the holding cells and cringed.

"Well," he took another pull of his beer, "you're just gonna have to wait and find out. I don't just let anybody drive Alexandra."

She can't stop herself from laughing, not able to picture him in a jail cell. "What'd you go to jail for?" she asked curiously. She had to know.

She winks at him. "I'll be on my best behavior," she teases playfully.

"Alexandra, that's a pretty bad ass name. How does she handle the curves?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Laugh it up." He said finishing his bottle of beer and opening another for them both. "Possession and drunk and disorderly. Not my finest moments." He told her a bit sheepishly.

"Wouldn't you like to know!" He winked at her again.

She takes the bottle of beer from him, taking another sip. "Drunk and disorderly? What were you doing?" She can't help but giggle at the idea.

"I most definitely would," she said,"And I'm gonna find out."

"We should get something stronger than this to drink. What do you think?"

"Ummm... Ryan and I were so drunk we thought it would be a good idea to run down the streets of new york city in just our underwear." He blushed slightly at the memory. All in all though, that had been a pretty awesome night.

"We'll see about that."

"I think that's an excellent idea. Lady's choice." He said pointing at the phone.

"YOu almost went streaking, then?" she's not sure why it's so amusing, but she's having trouble imagining this guy, who is into her and has yet to make any move really stripping down and runnign through the town.

She picks up the phone and calls down to the front desk, giving the room number before saying. "Well have a bottle of bourbon. The best you got. And some soda, yeah, coca cola is good. Thanks."

She hangs up and teases. "I hope you can hang with the big boys."
