European Train Ride Week

Lets see if I can get it right this time.

Sorry this is so late. Ended up in the hospital this afternoon. This will be a low key week because I don't have it in me for a lot of activities at the moment.



Welcome to The Ebbsfleet International Railway Station located to the east of London. From here, you will be catching the Eurostar train to Paris. Make sure you have your Eurail train pass handy. This is the pass that will allow you to travel throughout europe. If you lose this, you may have to buy a new ticket or remain where you are while the rest of us go on.


Feel free to have a look around the station. The train will be here shortly. As soon as it arrives, you can find your seat and then wander around and get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2: Welcome to Paris. Feel free to wander around and enjoy the sites.

Day 3: Welcome to Amsterdam. There are sites to see for everyone. Check out the canals. Eat in one of the many fine restaurants. Or if you are into more risqué fun, check out the Red Light District. Here.

We'll be heading for Berlin in the morning.

Day 5:
Today we've arrived in Venice. Venice is really a collection of small islands connected by canals. Venice is the perfect city for couples. If you want to stay around, you can catch the Venice Carnival that begins the end of January. For now, you can take a romantic or relaxing Gondola ride. You can take a tour of the city by boat. You can crash in one of the many luxury hotels. There are museums, amazing architecture, or opera houses. If nightlife is your thing, there are jazz clubs, coffee houses, and pubs to enjoy.

Day 7: And our trip this week ends in Budapest. Stay as long as you like and enjoy your trip home.

"If you say so, Seth," she said, her tone light and breezy, playful.

That was an interesting question. It left her with a few options. Option one, truth. Option two partial truth. Option three lie. She shifted a little awkwardly in her chair as she took a bite of her steak, giving her a chance to think it over.

If she told him the truth, he'd wanna make her his project, or he'd pity her or something. But she didn't feel it was right to tell him a total lie.

"Well, right now, I'm working at a club. serving drinks," partial truth, no need to say it was one of eight jobs,"I just turned 21 at the beginning of the summer, so I can do that now." A whole truth.

"And I help my parents with my siblings," another partial truth. He didn't need to know she took complete and total care of them.

"I like to, ummm...dance, and run."

It felt really awkward to talk about herself. No one had taken an out and out interest in her in a while.

"What about you? What do you do when you're not making comics, promoting, putting up strange girls you don't know in hotels?"

"Well that's cool. I used to work in a club. It was pretty fun. Although, I wasn't a bartender, but that's besides the point."

Running. Why someone liked running when they didn't have to, he would never understand, but if it worked for her, then why not.

He laughed. "Well don't let this go to your head or anything, but you were the only 'stranger', " he used air quotes to make his point, "that I have ever done something like that for."

"I love the ocean, especially surfing, sailing, and jet skiing. I also like race cars."

"It is a lot of fun," she agrees, laughing,"What did you do there? At the club?"

He seemed to pause a little on the running thing.

"Hey, I made state in high school," or she would have, if she hadn't had to drop out,"And I broke some record for fastest mile. At the time." She adds that in, because she's broken what her high school coach said was the record then, now. maybe it's changed.

She just looks at him, unsure how to respond to him saying he doesn't usually do things like this. "So would that make me special or overly pathetic?" the edge is back in her voice some.

She's never really spent a lot of time on the water or near the water, growing up in Chicago. So she doesn't really get a lot of that. They have a marina, but not a lot of open water.

The last part peaks her interest though. "Race cars huh? Wouldn't have guessed that. What kind of car do you drive then?"

Maybe bringing up working in the club wasn't the best idea. "Cleaning shit up, set up, heaving lifting. Never again will I work for one of my girlfriends." He shook his head.

He caught the little pause in her sentence and the 'at the time,' and he really wanted to know what that mean. But he was wasn't sure if she would tell him even if he asked, or if she would even tell the truth. He was going to ask anyways and see what happend. "At the time?"

"Don't. I think I know where your brain is going and don't let it. You're not pathetic or a charity case or anything like that. I find you intriguing. I like you."

"What would you have guessed then?" He asked interested in what she thought. "I drive an Audi R8 GT Spyder (http://d3403mtifmmdhn.cloudfront.net/carline_gallery_images/335/original/AR8_10184.preview.704x396.png?1329862316)." He didn't want to mention that he had another car. He saw how she cringes every time he brings up where he lives.

She laughs. "Working for a significant other is never a good idea. Almost as bad of one as living with 'em."

"Yeah, I mean high school was a while ago. maybe someone's faster than me now. So, at the time," she shrugged. A lie. "I did it in 5 minutes and 25 seconds."

She bristles a little when he tries to say he knows what is happening in her head. "You don't know me," she says pointedly, even now, he only has half truths.

She shrugs before say totally jokingly,"Affordable hatch backs? I don't. You seem like one of those guys who always does the right thing. And then to be into race cars...." It was kind of hot.

"Seriously? God, those are beautiful cars!"

He laughed. "You can say that again."

"That's still pretty damn fast. I'm impressed."

He put his hands up defensively. "Hey, I didn't say I knew you. Because I know that I don't, but I am trying to get to know you. That's all."

He glares at her playfully. "Very funny. No, if I always did the right thing I think I would drive myself crazy. Gotta cut loose every once in a while."

"Yeah, I definitely love it. It's my baby."

She blushed a little, looking down when he said he was impressed. "It's not a big deal. It doesn't really, you know, mean anything..." It sure as shit didn't help her raise five kids and keep a roof over their head and food in their bellies.

She's painfully aware that he's trying to get to know her, and she thinks that that might be the part that she's unsure about. and she doesn't like him trying to figure her out. If he ever did, it'd make her horribly vulnerable.

"Come on. You do most of the right things. You seem like a good guy," she didn't know if that was a compliment or not, this would be so much easier if he weren't a good guy, then she could predict him, she could know for certain that none of it meant anything.

"I would love to drive a car like that sometime."

"I totally is! It takes talent to do something like that!" He said noticing her blush and smiling.

He shrugged. "I guess. But being a good guy all the time would get boring. You've gotta have something to live for. I've definitely learned a few things from my brother. Breaking rules every once and a while is fun."

"I'm sure you would." He said and winked at her. He took a bite of his steak and then a long pull of his beer before adding. "We could probably make that happen, if you're lucky."

She looked intently at her steak, cutting another piece until he looked away. She wasn't used to a lot of praise. She did a lot without any thanks.

"You ever get arrested like your brother?" she asks curiously.

he teased her about wanting to drive his car, and this moment of cockiness on him was really hot.

She arches a brow, sitting back in her char, taking a long pull from her beer. "If I'm lucky?" She sits forward again, giving him a flirtacious grin. "What might a girl have to do to get lucky?"

He thought it was adorable how uncomfortable it made her when he complimented her.

"Actually I have. Jail cells suck. Never again do I want to be in one of those." He said remembering when they kept him and Ryan in the holding cells and cringed.

"Well," he took another pull of his beer, "you're just gonna have to wait and find out. I don't just let anybody drive Alexandra."

She can't stop herself from laughing, not able to picture him in a jail cell. "What'd you go to jail for?" she asked curiously. She had to know.

She winks at him. "I'll be on my best behavior," she teases playfully.

"Alexandra, that's a pretty bad ass name. How does she handle the curves?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Laugh it up." He said finishing his bottle of beer and opening another for them both. "Possession and drunk and disorderly. Not my finest moments." He told her a bit sheepishly.

"Wouldn't you like to know!" He winked at her again.

She takes the bottle of beer from him, taking another sip. "Drunk and disorderly? What were you doing?" She can't help but giggle at the idea.

"I most definitely would," she said,"And I'm gonna find out."

"We should get something stronger than this to drink. What do you think?"

"Ummm... Ryan and I were so drunk we thought it would be a good idea to run down the streets of new york city in just our underwear." He blushed slightly at the memory. All in all though, that had been a pretty awesome night.

"We'll see about that."

"I think that's an excellent idea. Lady's choice." He said pointing at the phone.

"YOu almost went streaking, then?" she's not sure why it's so amusing, but she's having trouble imagining this guy, who is into her and has yet to make any move really stripping down and runnign through the town.

She picks up the phone and calls down to the front desk, giving the room number before saying. "Well have a bottle of bourbon. The best you got. And some soda, yeah, coca cola is good. Thanks."

She hangs up and teases. "I hope you can hang with the big boys."

He laughed. "Yeah, it was actually really fun."

He raised his eyebrow at her choice of liquor not really picturing her as a bourbon type.

"Is that a challenge?"

She laughs,"I bet it was. Maybe you'll be drunk enough by the end of the night for a repeat performance."

He asks if it was a challenge and she scoffed a little and nodded, sure she could win this one.

"Oh, yeah. Absolutely a challenge. We may need more than one bottle."

He laughs and shakes his head. "I don't think that is gonna happen."

"Lets see how you feel after the first bottle." He said playfully with a wink.

"Let's see if you're in your underwear after the first bottle," she teases back in response.

The bottle arrives and they begin to drink, joking around more, touching a little more frequently. Eventually they end up laying on the bed, watching some completely ridiculous show.

"We should totally get out of here. Do something fun. Something we can't do at home. Something that is only here in Amsterdam." She added the last part so he wouldn't suggest a movie or dancing or something.

Seth tried to think about it but his brain wasn't fully connecting at the moment. He remembered hearing someone say something about a place that he had to at least check out. "Someone told me of this place that I just had to check out while i was here. I just can't remember what that name of it was. it had some sort of color in it. purple? green? no RED! it was definitely red! red something!" He was thinking out loud now in hopes that she might just know what he's talking about. "Let's got there!"

Her eyes looked excited when he said he heard of somewhere that they had to go. and then he started naming colors. Purple? Green? "Blue?" she tried to suggest helpfully before he settled on red.

"Red?" she arches a brow at him,"Are you sure it was red?"

Then she bursts into a fit of giggles as she realizes where he might be talking about. she grabs his hand, jumping off of the bed.

"Yes, let's go there!" She didn't want to say the name in case his alcohol addled brain still had enough common sense to abort mission, since he didn't seem like the kind of guy who would go there with a girl at all, let alone one he barely knew. She pulled him out into a cab and told the driver. "To the red light district."

Seth wasn't quite sure why she was laughing so hard but he just shrugged and smiled at her. He grabbed her hand and allowed himself to be pulled through the hotel and into the taxi.

"Yeah!" he exclaimed, "That's totally where they told me to go. You're a genius!" He said patting her leg and moving closer.

She laughed again when he agreed that that's where they told him to go. He pats her leg and slides closer and she grins, shimmying her way closer to him, until their shoulders are touching.

she turns her head to look at him, her nose brushing against his cheek, not having really realized their proximity.

She rests her hand on his leg, his knee. "I'm not one of those too fucking often," she says before breaking into giggles. Her hand lazily sliding up his leg, almost as if she didn't know what she was doing.

his entire body tingles when he feels her breath mix with his, but he chalks it up to the alcohol running through his system for the time being.

He lets out a short laugh, "well, you are. don't let anyone tell you differently!" He tells her and wraps his arm around her pulling her into a side hug. The tingles come back when he feels her fingers working up his leg. That's when he realizes that it's not the alcohol making him tingle, but her. He would never admit it, because THAT would make him feel like such a girl.

With her brother around it's nearly impossible to even pretend to be a genius. But she kind of likes that he thinks she is. Even if it is probably largely the alcohol talking.

When he wraps his arm around her, she lets him pull her closer. She sees him reacting to her touch, so she leans in and captures his lips with her own, kissing him.
