boston week: part one!

Welcome to Boston, Massachusetts! We hope you've found your accommodations to your liking. It's Christmas week, so the streets are bustling along nicely, the trees are up, and decorations line Faneuil Hall. No snow just yet, but we hope you like the 30°F weather! (Might want to bundle up.)

Even around this time of year, there's much to be done in the city -- take a gander at some of the potential attractions on your brochure and get out there to go enjoy the sights!

((Host note: I'm starting the week off easy with a general RP, but come Wednesday, expect a new post with -- gasp -- tasks! Unfortunately, I just won't be a stable enough presence to maintain what I have planned until then. So for now, get settled in and have fun!

Feel free to go all around the city -- I've outlined/summarized some key areas to hit up in the list up there. If you're stumped on somewhere to go, hit up the mod thread and I'll make sure to point you in the right direction!))

That sounds really nice. And we can stay in our pajamas and everything.

*sips his drink as he listens, chuckling a little*

Knees...my knees aren't so good like that for long periods of time. But what's communion?

*bites his lips and nods, reaching out to hold her hand*

I'm sorry. I know talking about this stuff with me is...difficult. I really just want to learn and understand, you know?

*holds her hand tighter*

Do you want to go now? We can walk and talk?

*stands up still holding her hand as they make their way to the door*

Oh! The restaurant.

*he rushes back to the counter to ask the barista if there are any good Mexican restaurants nearby*

*the barista asks if he wants authentic Mexican or main stream Mexican, to which he looks confused but then says authentic*

*the barista says there's a nice restaurant two streets over and not to be too concerned about it's appearance*

*he thanks the barista and comes back to her*

Uhh...he said there's one two streets over.

*walks silently with her, swinging their conjoined hands, narrowing his eyes at the chill*

*after awhile, he speaks, looking down at the ground as they walk*

It's kind of...hard for me to process. Learning something so...life altering, after all this time, you know?

I'm confused too. I like some things...Christmas is nice and being good and heaven sounds like good things. It's just...I always thought I was a pretty good person before I learned all about this. I liked to do good things because they make me feel good, not because I thought I was going to be punished by God or anything if I didn't. It...it makes me wonder too.

*he looks at her carefully and curses himself - he always makes her so upset when he tries to work out how he feels about this, tries to learn more about it - and he thinks he should probably just keep his thoughts to himself from now on*

*they walk silently until he sees the sign for the restaurant and he speaks a little weakly*

*he holds the door open for her and they get a table for two in the slightly dingy looking restaurant*

It's not your fault, I asked you about all of this, remember? I don't...this isn't a bad thing, I don't think, you telling me, us...talking about it. It's just stressful since we both don't know enough and we want to know more. But I think that's a good idea. We could talk to someone who knows a lot, and they'll answer all our questions. Maybe tomorrow? At church?

Yeah, it is. But our kitchen is small too and we make really good food.

*picks up his menu as well, looking it over*

Tortillas are the bread they use. It's like...flat bread, kind of. Very thin, but tastes good if it's made right. Burritos...burritos...*looks at the definitions on the menu, just to be sure* It says it's a flour tortilla wrapped around meat and cheese.
