*Dean comes to the door and opens it, holding Maddie up in front of his face, bouncing her around while he talks through her*

Aunt Ruby! You were gone a long time and now you're back! Just in time to change my stinky diaper that I've been saving for you! And maybe make Uncle Dean stop being so friggin crabby cause he's seriously getting on my nerves

*the baby laughs and babbles some more, waving her arms at Ruby*

*Dean peaks over the baby's shoulder and smiles gently*

*he talks quietly* Get your ass in here. You belong here.

*she gently takes Maddie from Dean and blows a raspberry on her tummy* You are a stinky little monster...lucky me.

*she smiles at Dean before grabbing a towel and taking Maddie over to the dresser close to the diaper bag and changing her. It's like they are having a very serious conversation the whole time, but none of it makes much sense*

*sealing the diaperbomb up in one of the plastic bags to throw it away, she then brings a fresh and clean Maddie back over to the rest of the crew.*

Do we have...just a bottle of water? If not, I can see how bad the tap is, but I figured I'd ask. *grins*

Think Diana's got a couple stashed in her bag over there *nods to the purple backpack set against the wall* You know from the one gas station stop I allowed us to have on the way up here.

*he falls back onto one of the beds, laying the wrong way, his legs hanging off the side*

I think I might just sleep for a century or so if we've got nothing planned.

*Ruby gives Maddie back to her Mom with a quick, whispered question about Doug, and then digs out a bottle of water. She sits at the head of the bed where Dean's laying and props her feet on his stomach*

Well... *takes a sip of the water thinking it tastes better than just about anything and she must have just been dehydrated* We could sleep for a century, but then we would wake up and the Impala would be all rusted and we'd all have those looooong Rip Van Winkle beards. Even Maddie.

Or we could take a couple days to rest? And not a whole century? *pokes him with her toe*

*crawls up to flop down again next to her, putting his head on her stomach*

Few days, a century, whatever.

*he doesn't really want to sleep at all. he doesn't want Ruby out of his sight for a minute until they figure out what the hell happened to her and where it came from*

*he turns his head to look up at her* You. Sleep. Right now. You need it the most. I'll stand guard for any monsters. *grins as Maddie pulls herself up on the side of their bed*

*She plays with his hair and smiles down at him and then over at Maddie* I'll sleep...but...

*she scoots down a little so that she can lay down, and keep his head where it is. She rests one hand on his chest and leaves the other playing with his hair.* But...you have to stay here at least until I drift off.

Deal?

Then you can fight...*yawns* All the monsters you like...

*he touches the side of her head when he says this and smiles at her before adjusting, getting more comfortable, one hand covering hers and falling asleep*
