*when they find people waiting for them on the other shore of the lake, at first Vala thinks it's more of the people from the island, and she raises her sledgehammer defensively. She's greeted by the sound of safeties clicking off and she pauses; the people on the island didn't have guns...*

John? *hearing his voice feels like a dream, but when she sees him coming to her through the crowd, she drops the hammer and runs to him, throwing herself into his arms and kissing him to within an inch of his life*



John, darling. *she hugs him and finally lets out how scared she's been, clinging to him desperately*

*the men around them move, some helping the other escapees and others preparing to cross the lake to the island and deal with the people there, which reminds Vala of someone they left behind*
