Regarding Claims

cfbbackupBecause of the staggeringly high number of character claims we've been getting, this phase we took the time to track, on a cursory basis, which characters were and weren't played. The intention isn't to call out anyone in particular, just to lay out some numbers to give an idea of what's going on.
In this last phase, 178 characters were claimed.
More than 60 of them, which is ONE THIRD, were not played even once during the phase.
In addition to that, there were at least a dozen more characters that commented once or twice and never again.
In addition to that, there were a few characters who were played that had never been claimed in the first place.
Some people had as many as 15 characters that they claimed, but never played. (Yes, one of your mods is aware that she had 6 unused characters, and has pledged to claim WAY fewer characters this phase, in case you're wondering.)
We are not currently adding more restrictions, just trying to make everyone aware of what things look like right now. By claiming a character but not playing them for four weeks, you're depriving another person of the chance to play that character, which isn't fair to someone who could actually be active in that time.
Please, when you're claiming your characters, consider this. Please remember that if a character isn't working out for you or if you don't have time to play him or her, to drop to allow someone else the chance to play that character. If it's been two weeks and you haven't played a character yet, think about dropping them. It's a matter of being considerate to other players, so that we can have a fun and active community. We will continue to monitor this throughout the new phase.
The new claims post will be up within a couple of hours. Thank you.
