A Week in Rural Scotland

Thank you for joining us here in picturesque Glen Macalie, on the shore of Loch Leven in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. We welcome you to the campus of the Glen Macalie School for Girls and hope that you will enjoy your stay.


This week will largely be unstructured; you are welcome to investigate the castle (which dates back to 1237 CE) and the nearby village of Glen Macalie. Some resources which will be available to you include:

In the castle:
Comprehensive Library
Modern Kitchens
State of the art Training/Exercise Room
Extensively landscaped grounds and gardens
Horseback Riding
Fishing
Hiking

In the village:
Shopping
Pubs and restaurants
Museum
Historical buildings
Golf

We ask only that you take care to observe the following rules:

1) Please do not leave campus near or after dark.
2) Venturing too far outside after dark, even on campus, is not guaranteed to be safe. You do so at your own risk.
3) There will be occasional evening events. Participation in these events should be considered of minor risk; however, anyone taking part should endeavor to follow all directions to ensure his or her safety.

*wraps his arms around her tightly, pulling her into his chest*

Oh, Eponine, no. I don't want anyone else but you, bows or not. She could try all she wants, but she'd never take me away from you. I love you so, so much. You know that, I know you do.

Shh...shh...I'm not going anywhere. You couldn't get rid of me if you tried.

This still is your chance. What is she going to do, hmm? You still want to marry me? Be a famous singer? Have kids? Grow old and sit together in those chairs? She's not going to ruin any of that.

Then that's what we do. We get married and sit in our chairs.

And so what if she's a better singer? Which I'm sure she isn't....but which one of you has a song of the radio? Hmm?

That is all that matters. And we don't have to see her at all if you don't want to. Well...maybe in passing, like you found her now. But we don't have to spend any time with her if you don't want to.

*runs his hands over her shoulders*

I'm going to protect you. That's what would happen. And you know what? You're so strong. And this world isn't the same as you're fathers...I don't think he'd survive well here.
