European Train Ride Week

Lets see if I can get it right this time.

Sorry this is so late. Ended up in the hospital this afternoon. This will be a low key week because I don't have it in me for a lot of activities at the moment.



Welcome to The Ebbsfleet International Railway Station located to the east of London. From here, you will be catching the Eurostar train to Paris. Make sure you have your Eurail train pass handy. This is the pass that will allow you to travel throughout europe. If you lose this, you may have to buy a new ticket or remain where you are while the rest of us go on.


Feel free to have a look around the station. The train will be here shortly. As soon as it arrives, you can find your seat and then wander around and get to know your fellow travelers.

Day 2: Welcome to Paris. Feel free to wander around and enjoy the sites.

Day 3: Welcome to Amsterdam. There are sites to see for everyone. Check out the canals. Eat in one of the many fine restaurants. Or if you are into more risqué fun, check out the Red Light District. Here.

We'll be heading for Berlin in the morning.

Day 5:
Today we've arrived in Venice. Venice is really a collection of small islands connected by canals. Venice is the perfect city for couples. If you want to stay around, you can catch the Venice Carnival that begins the end of January. For now, you can take a romantic or relaxing Gondola ride. You can take a tour of the city by boat. You can crash in one of the many luxury hotels. There are museums, amazing architecture, or opera houses. If nightlife is your thing, there are jazz clubs, coffee houses, and pubs to enjoy.

Day 7: And our trip this week ends in Budapest. Stay as long as you like and enjoy your trip home.

Derek shivers and feels his hands start to shake. "Ashley," he pleads quietly, though he isn't sure what for.

Ashley doesn't know what Derek is asking for either, but he already knows that his answer is yes. "Anything," he breathes in between kisses, too far gone to hear how the word sounds as it hangs in the air.

Derek inhales sharply at Ashley's answer because he wants everything. He squeezes the hand at Ashley's hip and buries his face in the other man's neck with the fleeting hope that he can hide from these emotions.

When Ashley hears the way Derek's breath catches, he presses another kiss to each of his eyelids. But the feel of Derek hiding his head against his neck brings out something entirely different in Ashley. He reaches up with one hand and threads his fingers through Derek's hair, gently massaging along his scalp until his hand rests at the back of Derek's neck, cupping it protectively.

When Derek feels Ashley's hand on his head, he feels protected, safe. He hasn't felt that since his family was alive and it's such an odd feeling now because he's gotten used to feeling unsafe. He rubs his face on Ashley's shoulder as he tries not to cry as the memories start hitting him again.

Ashley rubs the back of Derek's neck in slow circles with his fingertips, turning his head enough to press his face into Derek's hair and breathe deep. His other hand rests on Derek's arm, running lightly up and down, a comforting touch. He's not sure what's going on in the other man's head right now, but he can tell that it's something big.

Derek sniffles and tries to pull himself together because the last time he cried in front of someone was Laura after their family died. "Sorry," he murmurs quietly against Ashley's skin.

"Don't be," Ashley replies just as softly, lips moving against Derek's hair. The hand that's resting on Derek's arm moves to instead stroke gently up and down his spine.

"I know this isn't what you planned on." Derek brushes his thumb along Ashley's hip.

"D'you hear me complaining?" Ashley blushes when he hears the way his voice rasps, heavy with emotion and desire. "I've got you."

Derek shivers when he hears Ashley's statement. "Thank you. I'm not usually like this."

"Honestly? I can tell. That you're used to being the strong one." Ashley stops talking before he says something he'll regret, like always being here or taking care of Derek or something else that's equally likely to get him in trouble.

"I am. Not the type to cry after sex," Derek tries to joke, but it falls flat. He nuzzles in closer to Ashley.

Ashley laughs softly, kissing the top of Derek's head. "I've got you," he repeats, just a breath in the air.

Derek sighs happily and keeps petting Ashley's hip. "Want to tell you things, but I'm not sure how you'll react."

"I'm a paramedic, Derek," Ashley murmurs. "I've seen things that most people can't even imagine. Anything you want to tell me..." he leans back just enough to meet Derek's eyes. "Anything."

Derek snorts and just lets it fall out. "Ever seen a werewolf?"

Ashley looks confused for a moment, then barks out an almost nervous laugh. "Look, mate... if you don't want to tell me you don't have to deflect. You can just say so, I'll back off."

Derek frowns. "I'm telling the truth, Ash." He sighs in resignation and cracks his neck, letting out his fangs and ears and red eyes.

"Shit!" Ashley flinches on instinct, almost jumping out of Derek's lap, eyes wide and heart racing. He just stares, for a minute, then slowly leans in closer. "Derek," he breathes, voice soft and shaking... "oh my god." He tilts his head, the look on his face slowly becoming less frightened and more fascinated.

He takes a long, slow breath, reaching up to trace his fingertips over Derek's face, running a thumb carefully over his lower lip, avoiding his fangs. Finally, he blinks and meets Derek's red eyes. "Wow."

Derek winces when Ashley flinches, thinking he's going to run off. He's surprised that Ashley is still their and smelling of curiosity, not fear. He keeps his breathing steady as he allows Ashley to explore. "Believe me now?"

Ashley shifts to straddle Derek's lap, cradling his face in both hands. "Hard not to, faced with evidence like this." He arches one eyebrow, eyes twinkling.

Derek rolls his eyes. "You can ask me questions. If you want."

Ashley takes another deep breath, heart still racing. He brushes his thumb over Derek's cheekbone. "Can I kiss you?"
