Once Upon A Time / Storybrooke Week

Hello everybody I am Emma Swan-St. John and I am the Deputy Mayor of Storybrooke. Regina Mills used to run the place but....we drove her out when she started dating this weird guy called "The Master". How they are out there running around without the curse affecting them....I don't even know.....ANYWAY My dad David Nolan, yeah I know he looks my age long story there, runs the place with his new girlfriend but he assigned my wonderful Husband Mick and I to help with guests and newcomers from "The Land Without Magic".

On behalf of our family we welcome you to Storybrooke.

Now before you enter you must know the story about this place. Orginally this place was the enchanted forest. When my son Henry came up to me with this story (if you would like to know the full tale he's the little expert so if you have any questions he will gladly let you read the book) I didn't believe it myself but the main point of this story is we are all a bunch of characters.....no really we are ALL a bunch of characters brought here by a curse set by the evil Queen. But part of the curse was recently broken while the characters remember who they are, they are not COMPLETELY back so please don't be alarmed if there are some magical things going on.

With that said we hope you enjoy your stay. We have plenty of fun events

The Mayors Mansion - Mick and I are happy to accomidate visitors since we have many guest rooms open if you don't feel like staying at Granny's, just please don't make a mess.

RP wise it is a free for all week. You can do whatever you want whether it be dirty....clean...fluffy or angst ridden.....but there will be some cool interactive features you have the option of doing:

Events- Ill be posting an event thread once every two-three days, this is optional for those who are in the midsts of intense threads, but it's mainly group threads and social gatherings in the town its there so characters can socialize and have fun with their buddies and stuff.

Question/challenge of the Day Every day I will be posting a new thread for the "question and/or challenge of the day" pretaining to the theme of this week. Keep your eyes peeled for the questions you don't want to miss this, especially because I cant wait for the interesting. At the end of the week there will be voting and people will be rewarded in a shotout post.

Day 1
QUESTION OF THE DAY If you were a citizen in Storybrooke and you had a fairytale counter part who would it be and why? For Storybrooke Citizens...do you like your fairy tale counterpart, if not if you can chose a new one who would it be and why?
EVENT Welcome Party at the Mayors house- Prince David, Deputy Mayor Emma St. John and their family coordually invite you to the mayors house to welcome in all their guests joining them this week. There will be food provided by Granny's Dinner and it will be a night of relaxation and dancing!

Day 2
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY Make up a fairy tale involving your character. For those who don't feel like writing epic novel length.....you can do it within one sentence

Day 3
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY Put your character in a fairytale attire. You can use either Polyvore, a picture or a Dollmaker for this one chose wisely there will be a poll at the end of the end of the week on who dressed the best!
EVENT In the style of a Reinassance Faire, the citizens of Storybrooke will be turning their town into an automsphere simulating life before the curse was inflicted on the town. There will be food, music, entertainment dancing and even a marketplace where people can buy trinkets for themselves or their loved ones. People who attend this event are REQUIRED to dress in coustume....it makes it fun.

DAY 5
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY Dress your character for the ball using either Polyvore, a dollmaker or using a picture, chose wisely there will be a poll at the end of the end of the week on who dressed the best!
EVENT Storybrooke annual ball, come dressed up as a prince or princess.

Not that I am aware. But there is always a first time for everything. One can never be too careful. How about you. Are you the type that generally provokes heart attacks?

Apparently those were rhetorical questions. And not in need of an actual response. Yes, it is Maine. I have no idea; perhaps someone had a sense of humor. No, I am not done shopping, but far be it for me to turn down the offer of a drink. Sure! I'd be willing to join you.

*shakes his head and goes to the door, checking around when he exits to see where you have gotten to, if you have even bothered waiting around*

On occasion. When my part of the conversation is deemed necessary only by me. And I would keep up if I were given any sort of indication that we would, in fact, be moving. Instead of this sudden departure mid-conversation that you seem to be intent on.

And what I do in Maine is run a restaurant/bar and help people transport things. What is it that you are doing here? As it does not seem like you are particularly fond of this area.

No, I transport things like a boat captain. Because that is what I am. I have a nice little boat that I won in a poker match. Well, mostly. It's a long story.

Although, if you are in Maine for me, I would have thought you would know that already. What is it you need transported? Wine? Cigars?

*pauses for a moment*

How did you know I would be here, though? Very few people knew of my exact location. Did Stevenson give you my location? I thought he was more discrete than that. I may have to choose my acquaintances more carefully.

How do you know about the Troubles? You aren't from Haven, are you? Are you one of those cultists? Do you work with Jordan? Trying to collect all of the Troubled together? Why? Why do people think it is such a good idea getting such lethal people together? I swear, if I have another near death experience due to you people, I will not be happy.

And in answer to your question... No, I am not tired of hiding who I am. The people who matter know, and I do not care to look like a freak to the others. Which... Wait... How do you know about my powers? Even those who know about the Troubles do not know that I am affected. We've done a damn good job keeping it under wraps. Did you find Noelle? Or Moira? I can't imagine Nathan, Audrey, or Dwight saying anything.

*tries to process what you are saying*

How do you not know what the Troubles are? You referenced mine. You know, people who have unexplained powers? The Troubled?

And humanity has a reason to be scared of these people. Well, not all of them. But still... One brought about the Biblical plagues, for crying out loud.

I'm not isolated! Well, not entirely so. I do travel. Boat captain, remember?

No, I was not aware that there are those who can sense us. But considering I can tell if someone is troubled or not, it doesn't surprise me that much. What does surprise me is your interest. And I'm curious. Why do you have an interest in these powers? Most of the Troubled I know cannot wait to get rid of their powers. At least temporarily.

Considering I only found out about my powers a short while ago, and my father wished for me to use them to kill my friend, forgive me if I'm not exactly jumping for joy over them. I will be happier when they go away. As will most of the people that I know. Why would I want to keep the powers?

I was born Troubled. However, they did not manifest until a recent confrontation. It takes a violent, or at least highly emotional incident to manifest the Troubles in a person. I had thought I had escaped that curse, but apparently not.

Considering the sole purpose of my *slightly snide voice, as he still thinks of them as a curse:* ~powers~ is pretty much to kill others? I think that makes them a generally accepted bad thing.

They are a part of me, but I can at hope for them to go into remission. If we can figure out exactly how to do so. And if we can't, that doesn't mean I have to use them. Ignoring them seems a perfectly viable strategy to me.

You honestly believe that someone can be trained to resist the effects of the Troubles? I highly doubt that. At least from what I've seen. There is only one person I have seen who is immune to their affects, and it isn't due to training.

Besides, I've done perfectly fine staying out of everything so far. I am sure I can continue to do so. Smugglers are notoriously good at hiding. It's in the job description.

And, wait, why would anyone outside of Haven care to make me a pawn anyway? My powers only work with the Troubled. And it is not like there are that many Troubled outside of Haven.
