I stopped being a child around thirteen. When my parents checked out and I had five kids to raise. We don't live in the best of neighborhoods. Sometimes you need the bat.

Yeah. Well I have some help, from neighbors, with the little stuff. But mostly, it lands on my shoulders. I work eight jobs to keep everything going. And we still have to steal new hot water heaters from people who just died in the nighborhood.

*gives a nervous laugh*

No, you don't have to do that, we're okay. I mean I want to keep us together. That's the most important thing. That we don't get separated.
